Gauge Dashboard Item - Add more gauges types and designs

Thank you for your answer. In our own implementation of Dashboard we allow the end user to add a XtraGauge control from the XtraGauges Suite, which have much more designs and types. If we decide to move to the DevExpress Dashboard solution, the Gauges UI will be much poorer then before. What about the current Gauges types you provided - will there be new designs in the next releases?

Thank you for the clarification. I am afraid we do not have immediate plans to implement new gauge types in future versions of the XtraDashboard Suite. However, I have discussed your suggestion with our developers, and we agree that it may appear to be useful. We will update the thread if we implement this feature, however, I cannot promise that it will be implemented soon.

No doubt, the XtraDashboard Suite is a very usefull tool. Congrats for the beatiful job. But, I was disappointed when started to define the Gauges, they are too poor, in relation on the XtraGauges Suite.
Please, give us more.

I agree, the XtraDashboard suite is great. But, lacks the flexibility of the XtraGauges suite. Simple changes like fonts, styling and additional gauge types should be part of the dashboard designer (maybe even the viewer as well to give the user some functionality). I created an application that uses the dashboard suite, with confidence that you guys will expand the functionality as the product grows. e.g. allow the user to view an item in full screen, export to any format, change styling, dashboard scrolling etc.

Agreed. The default gauge and chart designs are not always the best suited. My users would like to be able to modify design type for each.

It seems (I believe so) it is not that difficult to implement this feature (please, let me know if I'm wrong):
- The DevExtreme suite already supports gauges with range coloring; So porting this feature to web shouldn't be a big issue:

- The color ranges settings could be reused from the choropleth map item; So one could define percentages threshold's and a coloring for each range:

We already have a separate ticket where such a feature is discussed: Gauge Item - Provide more binding parameters. I have moved your comment to this ticket.

We would gladly advice you to implement ranges and colouring tot gauges. Something like the example. Thank you!

The gauges are far behind compared to others. This would be very valuable to the dashboard.

Hello JohnI've attached 4 samples.
- "Gauge A" is how it is today.
- "Gauge B" is something simple that could be done, that would turn it better.
Reason: Unless the gauge occupies the whole screen, the pointer ends up being small, and it is hard to tell from a distance where it is. The same for the target.
- "Gauge C" is our dream Gauge. Because it is very simple to understand.
I guess that if you could develop something similar, most users would adopt it.
- "Gauge D" is the one that is on your asp.net gauges, that is close to "Gauge C".
In other words. Developing one like "Gauge C" would answer all of my customer's needs.

+1 from us. I've recently got a request from one of my dashboard users to see Digital Gauge in the dashboard. (Where he stated that using a grid or a card is not efficient and really not creating the effect that it should have) Please see the screenshot as attached.

I agree this is greatly needed.  The Gauges in the Dashboards are greatly lacking compared to the XtraGauge capabilities.  I would also like an update on where adding this capability is at.

We need the State Indicator Gauges in Dashboard, especially the electric lights (like in Winforms XtraGauges https://documentation.devexpress.com/#WindowsForms/CustomDocument18228)
Also extended customization of the appearance would be very nice (different styles/colors or the PresetManager).

i have spent the last few days implementing a usercontrol gauge that i can pass  stateindex, value and caption so that i can re-use it easily. i then have a form which has a layout control and dashboardviewer. it ends up achieving what i what but has limitations on layout and extra work on data handling for the usercontrol, i end up needing a binding source for each usercontrol. it would be nice to be able to utilise the inbuilt data handling and query storage that comes with dashboard elements.

No, I am afraid we have not implemented any new gauge functionality in version 16.1.
