How to bind GridControl to an Entity Framework data source

hi Pavel, the question was originated because the code generated or the documentation in the past had something that was ending up leading to RAM "leak" or infinitive consumtions

The grid control is now bound to the EF data and all the required code is already generated. You can see the automatically generated code in the .CS file. Now run the app to see the result.

the above text is not telling you "what code is actually generated"
can you verify with me in your latest version what code will be generated to create the bindingsource and load it?
is it going to be something like this:

Me.ContactsBindingSource.DataSource = New BindingSource() With {.DataSource = myDB.Contacts.Local.ToBindingList()}

if it still is, then you will end up with the problems i described on my original post

and thats why i was looking for an "alternative" method cause the logic is flaw here. this logic will work only if you restart your app everytime.

The code generated in the latest version is a bit different. However, it doesn't create a new BindingSource instance. Instead, it binds the DataSource property of your BindingSource directly to the ToBindingList method output:

Do you get a different result after executing the steps from the tutorial?

ok i couldnt test the new version wizard, and the older one i have was making new instances, and thats why i ended up with out of RAM problems.

thank you for verifying this for me. i wish i knew up to what version the auto generated code is wrong and should be updated, but i dont have many devexpress version in parallel installed in my current laptop.

if you internally want to go back to v16.x.x and do some test it would be helpful to release a hotfix for those as well. or update the documentations above with the proper code that should be in there.
