How to use the grid designer when the grid is inside a UserControl

created 7 years ago

[DevExpress Support Team: CLONED FROM A577: How to use the grid designer when the grid is inside a UserControl]
Alisher from DE says this is not possible, here: https://www.devexpress.com/Support/Center/Question/Details/Q537216/how-to-use-the-grid-designer-when-the-grid-is-inside-a-usercontrol

Are you both talking about the same thing here ? I would like a solution that helps me "Run designer" of grid control (in another user control) from the main form.

Hi Nawfal,

As I mentioned in the How to use the grid designer when the grid is inside a UserControl ticket, you need to enable the "Enable Visual Inheritance" option to enable GridView's designer when it is placed on an inherited user control.
Note, however, that the GridView control's designer will not be available once an inherited user control containing GridView is placed to the main form.

Regards,
Alisher
