Hello,
By default, XAF provides the capability to define custom fields via the Model Editor tool or in code as described in eXpressApp Framework > Concepts > Business Model Design > Types Info Subsystem > Customize Business Object's Metadata.
If you do not like using the Model Editor interface for this task, you can provide a custom-tailored solution by using the Types Info System APIs described at the end of this help article.
Let me know if you have any other questions.
You're always welcome!
Regards,
Dennis
