ASPxUploadControl - How to set TemporaryFolder permissions

created 10 years ago

[DevExpress Support Team: CLONED FROM B135843: ASPxUploadControl - ASPxUploadProgressHandlerPage.ashx does not exist]
I found some issues with this.

It came down to a missing folder, permissions on that folder and IIS being set the to Integrated vs. Classic.

Missing Folder was /App_Data/UploadTemp

Set Permissions for NETWORK SERVICE on that folder and it worked.

Did I miss this in the documentation someplace or was there another reason it was missing?

Can I change that path or use a different path if that one doesn't work for me?

I hope this helps.

Hello Jon,

ASPxUploadControl doesn't provide a capability to define read/write permissions for this folder at the application level. We described this behavior in Temporary File Folder  of the Uploading Large Files help article. So. it's always necessary to set up permissions manually. We also discussed this question in the ASPxUploadControl in AdvancedMode - Access to the server path "~\App_Data\UploadTemp" is denied. thread. In addition, the File and Image Controls - Troubleshooting the "The X has no access to path Y" exception article is useful when it's necessary to check if the specified Web Server's directory has the necessary permissions.

Let us know if you have additional questions.
