New install on Visual Studio 2012 Express Windows Desktop

created 12 years ago

Hi

Just started trialing DevExpress, installed the trial…

I am using Visual Studio Dev Depress for Windows Desktop…

I was expecting to see new project templates … I open up Visual Studio and tried creating a new project but can't find the devExpress options…

Is there something I should do to install them into Visual Studio??

Thanks in advance

Note: I checked on the ToolBox inside Visual Studio and it does have UI tools from DX.12.2

Hi John,
Project templates are installed along with our products. Have you tried running the installer in repair mode? If not, please do so.
If this does not help, you can refer to the following article describing how to work around these issues:
Installing DXperience project templates into Visual Studio Express editions
How to use DevExpress components with Express versions of Visual Studio

      Hi John,
You need to use project templates attached to the article (of the corresponding version). In other words, you don't need to copy templates from the Visual Studio Extensions folder.
Please try using the attached templates and see if it solves the issue. Please keep us informed of your progress.

Hi I noticed the attached templates don't have 12.2.6 templates only 12.2.5
will these difference in version cause any problems?

          Hi John,
I have attached the new version of templates to that article. Please use the exact version of templates corresponding to your version of DXperience. If you use a different version of templates, it may result in errors when creating new items.
