Thank you for your report. You are right, this issue looks very similar to Ribbon - Invoking a bar item's customizing popup menu at runtime closes the Ribbon Application Menu if the Ribbon control's Style property is set to a value other than rs2007. I have added a reference to this ticket there.
AFAICT the public fix for Q454475 doesn't fix Q455325. So it shouldn't be marked as duplicate.

Thank you for your feedback. I have discussed the described scenario with our developers. This behavior appears to be by design. TdxBarApplicationMenu does not respond to pressing Shift-F10 or a context menu key as the WordPad does. We will consider the possibility of changing this behavior with future versions of our controls.
Hello Paulo! AFAICT this means that there is no way to add an application menu button to the QAT via keyboard. But I guess that noone is doing this via keyboard in reality anyway, so no need to hurry. :-)
