I have searched for a setting to enable resizing of the column customization window in the ASPxGridView and can't find it. I wouldn't normally ask such a simple question but I couldn't find anything in support either. It's enabled on the PivotGrid but it appears that there is not a setting for it on the ASPxGridView. Please advise.

ASPxGridView - Make Customization Window / Column Chooser resizable
Answers approved by DevExpress Support
Hello,
I just wanted to let you know that this functionality is available starting with version 17.1.
See the SettingsPopup.CustomizationWindow.AllowResize property.
Hello Patrick,
Thank you for your question. I am afraid that the ASPxGridView design does not allow to resize the Customization Window.
I have decided to convert the report to a suggestion so our developers can review it.
It might be a good functionality in the future.
P.S. Please allow me to make this report public, so our customers can track it.
Thanks,
Vest
Hello Patrick,
I appreciate your patience.
Our developers have discussed the issue and we decided, at the moment, to decline your suggestion. I am afraid that it is the first suggestion related to the Customization Window resizing functionality.
However, we will definitely reconsider our position if we see that this feature becomes popular. To do this, we need to make the report public, if you allow us to do this. Our users will track it, and we will be able to count them.
Please allow me to remove the Private status.
Thanks,
Vest
Hello Patrick,
I have modified the private status for the report, so users can see it.
I understand your disappointment, but we decided to not accept this suggestion, because it is not popular at the moment. Unfortunately, I cannot remember reports where people require this feature for the control, and so, we are afraid that nobody will use it.
Please believe me, that we will reconsider our decision when we see that lots of people need it. And, we will always suggest to our customers to track this report, just to see how many of them need this functionality.
Thanks,
Vest
I need this functionality. I have certain grids that have 50+ hidden columns and resizing is a MUST. Please reconsider - my clients need this. Thank you.
this really would be nice to have. i'm guessing it fell off the list of enhancements? it's been 4 years…
Hi,
At the moment, we don't have this functionality in our nearest plans. However, any feedback about real use-cases where this feature is essential is greatly appreciated. The more reliable information about using this functionality we will collect, the more precise solution we'll be able to offer.
Best Regards,
Luke
For some screens, we like to show the column chooser upon loading of the GridView. Like David, some places we have many hidden columns. With a large enough screen, the user should be able to expand the column chooser to see all of the hidden columns. Conversely, when the screen is small, the user should be able to shrink the column chooser to see more of the grid. Ideally, they should be able to move it outside of the grid as well.
I would like this as well. I have users that have specifically asked for this functionality. We have grids with lots of hidden columns and it would be nice to manually resize the column chooser window if necessary.
How about adding the ability to show the columns in a multi-column grid, similar to the CheckBoxList?
DevExpress guys - maybe you just made the Column Chooser popup window to be resizable?
Strangely, it has not been implemented for 6 years now.
Our clients would need it.
Not sure how you could release as is - it is so close to unusable as to be a bug IMHO.
