please see attached sample.
Steps to Reproduce:
start the sample, zoom in on the chart and have a very close look at the lines. they have small distortions which cannot be explained by the underlying data, as the values of each series are constantly dropping with increasing argument values. I have had this issue since the first release of xtrachart however I never found the time to bring it up.
Its funny: if you have only one series then that the line of that series will be as smooth as it should be. however, once you start adding other series they all become slightly distorted. I guess it is related to the fact that all four series in my example have different arguments.
Actual Results:
the lines show small distortions which are very easy to see when zooming in.
Expected Results:
they should all be smooth.

Axis tickmarks aren't aligned with grid lines
Hi Mark,
Thank you for the report.
We're aware of this problem. It's related to a Metafile that is used to draw a chart content. Please review the Axis tickmarks aren't aligned with grid lines to learn more about this problem
I suggest that you set XRChart.ImageType to BMP. Please review the sample in the attachment.
Thanks,
Andrew
Thank you for your reply, Andrew.
Unfortunately, I tried your solution however results are far worse now. Please have a look at the attached image. The chart in the middle of the page is now using BMP, while the others use the default metafile. The bmp format looks very unsharp both in the report preview as well as printed to pdf. the axis titles and axis lables cannot even be read anymore.
Mark,
Please review the sample, attached to the my last reply.
This sample is illustrating how you can avoid the problem with unsharp labels in the BMP.
Thanks,
Andrew
Andrew, I am sorry, I didn't see that you took the time to create a sample for me. I just followed the link to the other issue you were pointing at.
After looking at your sample I don't think this is going to do, although I must say the workaround really makes the labels readable again. However, they are still not as sharp as with metafile. Furthermore, it looks like I would be losing control over the axes, as in your sample they differ in the imagebox from the original chart. Lastly, while I appreciate your effort with the workaround thats not a solution I am willing to use as its going to be very cumbersome with a lot of charts and reports.
It's a pitty that this issue cannot be solved with the metafile. The lines are clearly smoother in the bmp.
Hm… looking at it VERY closely i still have the feeling that even in the bmp the connection between the points in each line are not perfectly placed. I can see small bumps there too, funny… it still looks like the end point of one part of a line does not exactly match the same starting point of the next part of the line. gosh…
oh well, I can life with the normal approach, it's not that it is unbearable… its just not perfect :)
Hi Mark,
Yes, it's only a workaround, but you may use it if the solution with the MetaFile doesn’t work.
Please feel free to contact us in case of any difficulty. We will be happy to assist you.
Thanks,
Andrew
