Hello - the first stage of my tests has a log in with email address and password. These tests were working before I updated to v 1.3.0 but are not any more. Both creating new tests and running old one's fail at the log in page - the page just hangs
I tried creating a test on another laptop (with the older version of test cafe) and that works fine. When I run the same test on the laptop with the new version installed I get the same problem - it hangs on the log in page. I've tried switching browsers but that doesn't work. do you have any suggestions please
thanks
Hello,
It is not possible to find the cause of the issue without reproducing it on our side. Could you please share a simple project (or a public URL) with us? We'll examine it and check for a suitable solution.
Hi Vladimir – thanks for getting back to me. Here’s the test. It should run by logging in then adding a new project then a number of details to a project. In my laptop running 1.3.0 it doesn’t get past the log in stage, on my laptop without the updated version it runs fine. I tried a few different browsers by the way but that didn’t make any difference
Thanks for your help
Alex
Hi Vladimir
Here’s the test – it should log in and add a project with details (works on older version on my other laptop but not on 1.3.0)
Thanks for your help
Alex
Thank you for the quick response.
We would love to assist you and diagnose this issue. However, since your website requires authentication, I will not be able to access it. Our policy prevents us from accessing a customer’s internal resources without prior written approval from the entity that owns the server/web resource. If you want us to research the problem further, we’ll need access to the server/web resource. Please ask the website owner to send us (mailto:support@devexpress.com) a written confirmation. It must permit DevExpress personnel to remotely access the website and its internal resources for research/testing/and debugging purposes.
Thanks for getting back to me. Is that just approval to use the log in details? I can do that. Or do you need some other access? In case it’s the latter I’m cc’ing Dan our CTO.
This written approval from the website owner should give us the permission to use the credentials you provided above in the test file to access your resources (https://stagingscreen.theeveryoneproject.org/). We'll wait for it in our email box.
I confirm I am a shareholder and director of the company that owns of the websitehttps://stagingscreen.theeveryoneproject.org/ and give permission to you to use the credentials provided in the test file I provided to accesshttps://stagingscreen.theeveryoneproject.org/.
Thank you
Alex Hannell
I wasn't able to reach your URL because of "Error 1020 Access denied".
Is it possible to give us access to your URL? For example, you can add our public IP (188.128.36.80) to the allow list.
Hi again
A couple of notes below from Dan cc’d here
I tested using com.au and that works and can use that for now – but it would be good to find out an answer to this anyway
Thanks
Alex
Thank you for the clarification. I've reproduced the issue. We'll research it and contact you as soon as we have any news.
Hi again
Just one other unrelated question – I’m setting up a whole lot of tests but then will hand them over to my colleague. Can I share or hand over my testcafe studio account when I do that?
Thanks
Alex
Yes, it is possible. If you want to transfer your TestCafe Studio license to your colleague, you can do this on the Manage Licenses page on our website (it is accessible through the "My Account | Assign Licenses" menu).
However, in this case your account will become unlicensed and it will not be possible to reassign this license back to you. This would be considered a floating license and this is against our End-User License Agreement (https://www.devexpress.com/Support/EULAs/testcafe-studio.xml). We do not support this kind of license. We license our products on a per-developer/per-user basis. Each person who will be working with our tools must have a valid personal license. So, if two colleagues in your team plan to work with TestCafe Studio, two licenses will be required.
I suggest that you refer to "Is your license on a per-developer basis? Does each developer using your products require a license?" and "Can a license be transferred from one developer to another?" in our Licensing FAQ to find more information on this subject.
