A cell's original font changes to the corresponding Cyrillic font for the entered Cyrillic text if certain original cell fonts are used

created 5 years ago

Hi,
This problem only occurs with certain fonts. It does not occur with Calibri, but does occur with Times New Roman.
If a cell has font "Times New Roman", and then you type in some Cyrillic text, e.g. Привет, then the Font edit goes blank. Looking in the Format Cells dialog, it shows the Font has changed to "Times New Roman CYR".
Not sure if this is something that can be fixed, however I would expect the Font edit to include the "Times New Roman CYR" font. Also, in my application I use my own edit control which loads fonts from Screen.Fonts. So can you advise how I may better handle this scenario.

Video attached.

Thanks
Rael

    Hello Rael,

I have reproduced this behavior with a small sample project. It may take us some time to check if we can resolve this font substitution problem at the level of our SpreadSheet control.

Changes affects only the dxFormattedTextConverterRTF.pas file, but nine different methods. So, it is better to get the entire file as a hot fix.

          What is a hotfix exactly?
