Corrupted screenshots in the exported report archive

created 6 years ago

Hi,

It is nice to have the Export feature work in this latest version. However, I have following questions and issue with the Export feature:

  1. The screenshots captured for the test case using .takeScreenshot step is not exported along with the Report. The tool only exports the screenshots if there is a failure. Because when as part of export functionality, it is necessary that all the related evidences for the test case are exported together.
Can you please implement this functionality where the Exports have the reports and all Screenshots.

  2. Unfortunately the images that is exported for the failed test cases, is corrupted and not in proper format. These images (.png) are not opening through any medium (paint, windows photo viewer etc)

  3. Would it be possible to 'Save' the exports with the Test Case name by default. Now it says 'reports' in the Save dialog for any test case. Saving them in the respective test case name would be more efficient and a added advantage for TestCafe Studio tool.

  4. We have installed HTML plugin. But this is not supported for most of the failed test cases as the reports are not getting converted to HTML.
    Consider the following situation:
Configure default report format as HTML
Execute a test case and it fails
Click the failed run in the TestCafe Studio - The details of the run is not displayed i.e we can not see where the failure is, its screenshots are not saved, there is no report to submit as evidence of failure.
I hope you can understand its high importance. Can you please fix this in the tool?

  5. When we export a report in HTML format, would it be possible to export them directly in .html format?
I can see it is taking incredibly more effort to convert each and every report to .html from .txt files, when there are more than 400 test cases. So it would be great if you can address this as well.

Please let me know if you need any clarity/ inputs

Thanks

        Hi

        > 1)The screenshot captured for the test case using .takeScreenshot step is not exported along with the Report.
I cannot reproduce this behavior. See video.

        > 2)Unfortunately the images that is exported for the failed test cases, is corrupted and not in proper format.
I've reproduced the problem. We will fix this.

        > 3)Would it be possible to 'Save' the exports with the Test Case name by default.
At present, 'report' is the default name for the exported test run report. We will consider substituting it with a more clear variant.

        > 4)We have installed HTML plugin.

Would you please clarify what plugin are using?
