[DevExpress Support Team: CLONED FROM T624306: Visual Studio 2017 performance is slow if a complex page with numerous editors is saved on the Source view]
Hi,
We have noticed that after upgrading to latest versions of Visual Studio 2017 and DevExpress, we are now again seeing increased "processing time" for changes made in the Design View. Its probably not as bad as before but still slower than we recall it being after this fix was new. Please have a look at this on your side to see if there are more that can be done here. Thanks.
Regards,
Patrik Johansson
Hi Patrik,
We need some time to research this issue. Would you please specify the DevExpress version that you used before upgrading to v18.2.6?
Hi,
We usually try to upgrade whenever there is a new version. We are now using 18.2.7 and it makes VS so slow its unbearable as soon as you try to use the designer view.

Patrik Johansson
Hello Patrik,
I've created a project with DevExpress v18.2.7 with a test WebForms page: it contains 20+ text boxes, several ASPxNavBars with templates, grid and other controls. All these controls were created using Design View. However, I didn't notice significant delays neither when creating controls, nor when editing them in Design View. Would you please check it on your side and let us know your results? You can also modify this project or send us your own sample for research. If it is necessary to make certain steps to reproduce the slowdown, please specify them.
