Hello,
We're experiencing a problem with reports export to PDF format. Chinese characters are not being properly displayed. After searching in your knowledge base the recommended solution we found is to install Areal Unicode MS font and use it for label's text. It does work indeed in development environment however when the system is run on other computers (without this font) - chinese characters are not being displayed properly again.
It brings a question - does this mean that all client computers which are going to run these reports must have Areal Unicode MS font installed? This font is not free and it will increase our clients' expenses. Is there any way to make it work without this font being installed on ever client's machine?

Hello,
Your are absolutely right, to show a report with Chinese characters exported to PDF correctly, the font used in the report should be installed on a computer where such a PDF file is viewed. We suggest our customers use the 'Arial Unicode MS' font, since we know that it contains glyphs for most Unicode characters. If your clients don't have the 'Arial Unicode MS' font, you can find a free TrueType font (see List of Unicode fonts) that contains the required glyphs.
Hi Andrey, thank you. I still wonder however what font are you using internally for your testing, is it Arial Unicode MS as well? Or can you make a suggestion on which of the free fonts contain most of the unicode characters?
Hello,
We use a default font (Times New Romans) when we develop our products. As for your question about a free Unicode font, I suggest you review the link I provided in my answer where you can find a list of more popular Unicode fonts and their license.
