In the example, demonstrated in the T473885 ticket, the password is programmatically assigned to the MsSqlConnectionParameters.Password property. This solution allows you to store the password in any form and convert it before using it. I assume that your question is about a special scenario. Would you please elaborate on it? We will be happy to assist you.
thanks for the clarification - i know you can save it to the xml with newer devexpress version. My question is/was if i or devexpress can save the password to the xml in a hashed form
greetings
Andreas
Hello Andreas,
It is better to use standard solutions provided by Microsoft for such purposes. For example, if you would like to store the connection string in the configuration file, you can use the protected configuration feature described in the Encrypting Configuration File Sections Using Protected Configuration section of the Connection Strings and Configuration Files article.
