Cannot create new template in Coderush for Roslyn

created 9 years ago (modified 9 years ago)

Hi,

As i'm moving to CodeRush for Roslyn, I find that I cannot create a custom template that I use a lot. A long time ago I used an IDE add-in to do this, but converted it to a CodeRush template using your help in this issue:

Remove indentation in using a coderush template

I have attempted to manually create a new template, and bind a key to it. However, I found that I couldn't save the edited template. After this I attempted to import the classic settings. Showed an error during import. No details. After this, I can see that the template is there, but it appears I cannot bind a key to it. The UI says so, but it does not work.

Please help me make this work again in CodeRush for Roslyn.

Kind regards,
Jan Geert Hek

    Hi Jan Geert,

From your description, I see that you faced two different problems. The first one is that you created a new template but were not able to save it, and the second one relates to the exception that occurs on porting settings from CodeRush Classic to CodeRush Roslyn.
To process these problems in a more efficient manner, I've registered two tickets on you behalf: CodeRush for Roslyn does not allow saving a template and CodeRush for Roslyn shows an error on importing a template. These tickets are currently in our processing queue and will be answered shortly.
