Hello, Michel.

All of our installers are tested using VirusTotal - a Google company - prior to distribution on our website. Results from 70 scanners for the full and trial VCL installers released on March 20th (v24.2.5):

  1. https://www.virustotal.com/gui/file/8dbbaa686ce8aa73f0c3cccec207eccb73477c6979b08022927f40771e55e8a4

False positives are fairly common when it comes to Anti-Virus tools (because they are based on AI and heuristics). For example, in both links Eset did not detect any issues (it is quite possible that your nod32 database was outdated). The second link shows DeepInstinct, but we consider it as a false positive, because of the other 69 tools. We also experienced instabilities with this tool in the past: DeepInstinct can pass the same test for the same binary after a few runs (or it passes from the very beginning in other cases - probably that is why VirusTotal itself sometimes excludes it from its default run set).

Should you wish, you can use VirusTotal free of charge and scan our binaries. Also, learn more about our testing procedures from Security - What You Need to Know. Thank you.

      Hi,

I get the same on my computer with ESET, Michel.
I understand from the Internet that ML/Augur is not the name of the trojan but the detecting method.
      ML stands for machine learning.
Anyways, I am interested what the say/find at ESET.

If you ever reach ESET, please do let us know. Over the years, we've not had much luck engaging anti-virus software vendors.

I had the same error message on Wednesday (26-3) but today there is no warning anymore.
