XRPictureBox "Squeeze" and "ZoomImage" not working after upgrading to Windows Server 2025

created 2 days ago (modified 2 days ago)

Hello,

the problem is a bit hard to explain as I can't share images of the reports affected.
Let me try though. The project that we develop which contains many DevExpress XtraReports is hosted on a server which was recently upgraded from Windows Server 2019 to Windows Server 2025.
Since then in some (seemingly random) reports, this functionality of XRPictureBoxes is not working.
For example we have an XRPictureBox on the PageHeader displaying a logo with Sizing set to "Squeeze" but instead the original "unsqueezed" image is being displayed. Similarly with some XRPictureBox elements that have Sizing set to "Zoom Image".

We have tried updating the reports to the last version (24.2), we are using the latest build 24.2.5 but still the problem remains.
The same project deployed on a Windows Server 2022 has no issues.

Do you have any idea what the issue might be?

Thank you in advance,
Dimitris

Hi Dimitris,

Yes, we're aware of this issue, and its cause lies within the Windows GDI+ library we're using internally for drawing (the System.Drawing API in .NET): https://github.com/dotnet/winforms/issues/12339.
I see that this issue is still opened, however, at the same time, I noticed that the Microsoft team has clarified this situation: Support Microsoft -> Improvements -> Normal rollout -> Graphics Device Interface Plus (GDI+):

Can you check if you have the latest updates installed on your server?

Regards,
Yaroslav

Thank you very much Yaroslav, KB5046740 seems to indeed solve the issue.
