PDF Export Colorspace CMYK

created 3 years ago

Hello,

Exporting a report as PDF uses RGB as its color-profile.

It would be nice to able configure colors in reports (Backgrounds etc.) as CMYK.
Or is there another way to force CMYK color-profiles when exporting PDFs?

Why:
CMYK is used for printing and we intend to print generated PDFs.

Our problem is that grey-boxes do not get printed correctly and/or differ from page to page.

As far as I understand it the problem lies therein that the printer controller
interprets rgb values (e.g. 230;230;230) differently depening
if a grey box "only" contains black text
vs. a grey box that contains graphics / diagramms with transparency.

Looking forward to your reply.

Hi Tom,

While I understand the situation and requirements, please note that we don't support the CMYK color model and this is not something that we have in our roadmap for this year. To work around this limitation, I recommend that you search for a possible solution using third-party development tools on the Internet (e.g., it is possible to post-process a resultant PDF file to achieve this goal). See the following StackOverflow threads:

Convert RGB color to CMYK?

I hope this helps. Feel free to contact us if you need further assistance.

Yaroslav
