    Dear Maxim

I'm afraid that this has become rather a critical issue for our company. We have a client that is extremely unhappy with the inability to correctly, at glance, have some label information on the data points. The entire reason we upgraded our license to Universal (and were looking to upgrade the rest of our dev team in due course) was to make use of this dashboard component and it's built-in export functionality.

In order for us to effectively manage the client's expectations we have to be in a position to give them some sort of time frame as to when one of the following could be achieved.

    A Legend
    Correct positioning of the labels

We do not see this as a "missing capability " but rather BROKEN functionality and feel that it should be far more prioritised than what this 17 month ticket would indicate! In addition it would appear that legends are readily available for the bar chart components, and even more frustratingly, when exporting the pie/donut charts, the labels appear correctly formatted!

I know that DevExpress has the policy of not providing any kind of release information, but in this case we are going to have to know whether the fix will at least be prioritised for the end of year major release.

    Anticipating your response.

^^ Ditto.  I upgraded to Universal also for the Dashboard and it's lacking in several areas for a what, 3 year old product?  But this Pie Chart area is the worst.  It makes the Pie nearly useless in certain situations.  I'd love to see this be a super priority also.

Thank you for your notes. I understand your position. Currently, our team is working on this functionality, but it is not complete yet. For this reason we cannot promise now that it will be implemented in 14.2 but we hope that it will. Note that ASPxDashboardViewer uses JS Charts but WinForms Charts are always used on export. The WinForms Chart controls already provide the required functionality for a few years. Currently, we are working on JS implementation.

We have implemented the functionality described in this ticket. It will be included in our next update(s).

Please check back and leave a comment to this response to let us know whether or not this solution addresses your concerns.

        Additional information:

With v14.2, the Web Viewer automatically resolves overlapping of point labels in the Pie dashboard item.

This is great news! As much as I'm ecstatic that the overlapping algorithms will be corrected, I still think that a legend would make sense as an option. As part of this review of overlapping issue was there any indication whether a legend would be included in this release or possibly one further down the line in 14.2's dev lifecycle?

              Hi AntonyC,
I suggest you refer to the Show legend for for Pie Chart ticket, where this behavior is discussed. We will update it once we have any news. Currently I cannot provide any estimation when it can be implemented.
