Application built on TFS in the cloud is expired

created 12 years ago

Hi,
We are using a nightly build on Team Foundation Service.
All the Devexpress dll used by application are in the solution so the build goes well.

However if we start the build application it shows Devexpress DXPerience Expired dialog.

Are we missing some things on TFS?

Thanks!

Greetings Roland

According to this article the Azure TFS Build feature is still in the preview stage. Please give our Microsoft colleagues some time to complete this functionality.

      Hi Roland,
Have you installed the registered copy of the DXperience Suite on the build server?
This is required in order to build licensed applications. Please note that according to our EULA, you do not need an additional license if not development is performed on the build machine.
Let me know if I can be of further assistance.

We have researched the TfsPreview service and found that this problem is not DevExpress specific. You will face the same difficulties trying to build Silverlight or Windows Phone project in the cloud. The solution for such issues is proper build controller configuration. Please read this articlefor more details. At the time, I am afraid we cannot offer you a better solution. Nevertheless, I will discuss this problem further and we will try to find a way support a licensing mechanism on build servers.

            Hi
I am another with the same problem, entire build and deploy is done via Hosted TFS (Cloud) / Azure.
Any news on whether I can use DevExpress?
            Thanks
            Dan

I have a similar issue on TFS cloud:
              My Project\licenses.licx (1): Unable to resolve type 'DevExpress.XtraBars.BarManager, DevExpress.XtraBars.v12.2, Version=12.2.6.0, Culture=neutral
