If you want to customize a series label, adjust the PointOptions.PointView property of the Series object you created.
For a reference, see this documentation topic: PointView Property
You can set this property both at design- and at runtime.
To customize a legend's text, please update the PointOptions.PointView property of the corresponding series item (see the SeriesBase.LegendPointOptions property).
Also, it's possible to handle the ChartControl.CustomDrawSeriesPoint event, and then adjust the CustomDrawSeriesPointEventArgs.LabelText property according to your scenario.
