Description:
My grid is bound to an XPCollection of persistent objects. The object is associated with other objects, which, in turn, refer to many other objects in my business model. The XtraGrid displays [+] buttons and allows a user to see almost all objects in the hierarchy by traversing through levels. The same happens if the grid is bound to an ADO.NET DataSet with many tables and relations. I want to restrict the level depth or disable opening detail data from a particular grid view. How can this be accomplished?
Answer:
By default, the grid automatically creates detail grid views, if child data is found in the data source. You can turn of this feature by setting the GridControl.ShowOnlyPredefinedDetails property to true. In this case, only those detail views which are explicitly defined in the grid's LevelTree are displayed.
If the grid control is intended to display a single grid view without any details, please deactivate the OptionsDetail.EnableMasterViewMode option of the main view. If you wish to remove [+] buttons from the second level rows, please set the EnableMasterViewMode property of the second grid view to False.
