What Changed
In v20.2 and newer, the iOS theme, which was previously deprecated, is no longer available.
We also removed the renderAs option used exclusively by the iOS theme.
Reasons for Change
DevExtreme started in 2012 as a product for mobile development with PhoneGap. To make applications look native on any mobile platform, DevExtreme included individual themes for Android, iOS, and Windows Phone.
Gradually, the front end world moved from mobile applications to responsive web applications. At the same time, design requirements for mobile applications became more flexible, and individual themes for mobile platforms became unnecessary.
DevExtreme is changing together with the front end world. We enhanced our Generic and Material Design themes, deprecated our mobile themes, and already removed themes for Android and Windows Phone. With this breaking change, we remove the iOS theme as well.
Impact on Existing Apps
After you upgrade to v20.2, you will not find the iOS theme in the package. Replace this theme with Generic or another predefined theme in your application. Please note that the appearance of certain widgets with a new theme differs from that with the iOS theme.
