The AllowCellMerge property produces date update performance issues

created 8 years ago

I am having real performance issues with a "AllowCellMerge" grid which I have replicated in the attached example.

It looks like a bug as the the TableView with AllowCellMerge is not respecting the BeginDataUpdate/EndDataUpdate wrappers?

    Hello,
    We've found the cause of the issue and fixed it. However, the fix will be available starting with version 17.1. I see that you're using version 15.1.8. To resolve the issue in this version, you need to create the following TableView class descendant:

    C#
    public class MyTableView : TableView { protected override void UpdateCellMergingPanels() { if(Grid.DataController.IsUpdateLocked) return; base.UpdateCellMergingPanels(); } public void UpdatePanels() { UpdateCellMergingPanels(); } }

    After that, it will be necessary to manually update GridControl's merging using the UpdatePanels method after the EndDataUpdate method invocation.

    Thanks,
    Kirill
