SharePoint 2013 - It is impossible to import the DevExpress Web Part to a SharePoint site

created 9 years ago

Hi

I used your tools ASPxSharePointRegister.exe to register devexpress. It went all fine and I can see the all 3 SPx web parts and can activate they in all applications but if I try to insert them I get the error message "Cannot import this Web Part" and the log file shows:

Microsoft.SharePoint.WebPartPages.WebPartPageUserException: Cannot import this Web Part.
    at Microsoft.SharePoint.WebPartPages.WebPartImporter.CreateWebPart(Boolean clearConnections)
    at Microsoft.SharePoint.WebPartPages.WebPartImporter.Import(SPWebPartManager manager, XmlReader reader, Boolean clearConnections, Uri webPartPageUri, SPWeb spWeb)
    at Microsoft.SharePoint.WebPartPages.WebPartPreview.get_WebPart()
    at Microsoft.SharePoint.WebPartPages.WebPartPreview.CreateChildControls()

    at System.Web.UI.Control.PreRenderRecursiveInternal()
    at System.Web.UI.Page.ProcessRequestMain(Boolean includeStagesBeforeAsyncPoint, Boolean includeStagesAfterAsyncPoint)

Astonishingly If I create my own web parts with devexpress controls and deploy it, it works fine just not devexpress SPx* web parts!!!

any Idea?

Thanks

    Hi,

    It's hard to say why the issue occurs without additional research. Please make sure that you've completed all the steps from the Installation documentation topic. If this doesn't help, check the SharePoint Troubleshooting Guide topic and provide me with the additional information requested at the bottom of the page.

    Best regards,
    Paul

        Additional information:

        Hi.We have fixed the problem with import of the DevExpress Web Part to SharePoint site. It will be available in the next minor version. For now, you can use the following workaround.
        Edit the SPxHtmlEditorWebPart.dwp and SPxListViewWebPart.dwp files in the Web Part Gallery on SharePoint site as shown in the attached video.
        This should solve your problem. If this does not help, let us know.
        I look forward to your reply.
