NullReferenceException is raised when views are switched and MultiSelectMode is set to 'Cell'

Dear support
I am using example provided here
https://www.devexpress.com/Support/Center/Question/Details/Q504785
with a slight modificationm - treeview instead of cardview

if I am using property
MultiSelectMode="Cell"
it creates a problem

Could you explain why?

    Thank you for your sample project. I have reproduced this issue and passed this ticket to our developers for further research. We will update this thread as soon as we make any progress.

    We have fixed the issue described in this ticket and will include the fix in our next maintenance update. To apply this solution before the official update, request a hotfix by clicking the corresponding link for product versions you require.

    Note: Hotfixes may be unavailable for beta versions and updates that are about to be released.

    We have fixed this issue. Please note that the MultiSelectMode property is obsolete and in the latest version it's recommended to use the GridControl.SelectionMode property.
