I updated my system from Visual Studio 2008 to Visual Studio 2010 Ultimate. Before installing VS 2010 I uninstalled VS 2008 and an older release of the DevExpress Winforms Components.
After the installation of the current build (I downloaded it yesterday evening), I have no components in the toolbox. Then I tried to register the components by using the ToolboxCreator. But that doesn't work either. Below are the log entries from ToolboxCreator.
On my system .Net frameworks 2.0, 3.0, 3.5 and 4.0 are installed.

Thanks for your question. The exception says that the Microsoft.VisualStudio.Shell can't be found. Did you install the Microsoft Visual Studio SDK? A similar problem was discussed in the following thread: Microsoft.VisualStudio.Shell.9.0.dll in VisualStudio 2008 Standard Edition (C#). If the provided solution doesn't help, I suggest that you repair or reinstall Visual Studio. Please let me know your results.

I installed the Visual Studio SDK and even reinstalled VS 2010. But the problem isn't solved.
I searched for the needed dll and found one, named as needed in the GAC and in the program folder of VS 2010.
What else can I do?

I solved the problem. I don't know why, but the assembly Microsoft.VisualStudio.Shell was not published in the GAC. I installed it with the gacutil from the SDK and now everythings works fine…
Looks like the Visual Studio 2010 installer is a little bit buggy :-(…
